ECHO MacArthur School

MacArthur School is an early childhood program that focuses on creating academic and functional opportunities through play and hands on exploratory learning.  Staff members from a variety of disciplines work collaboratively to create an integrated model of teaching.  This unique integrated service delivery model focuses on interweaving language therapy, motor therapies, & technology so that students' opportunities are maximized.  MacArthur School has half day and full day students in attendance.  The Half Day Program is designed to promote a play based and developmentally appropriate instructional learning environment in which young children can learn through their active exploration of the classroom environment.  Instructional programming is facilitated by child initiated and teacher selected activities designed to promote growth in all areas of development.  The Full Day Program maintains the play based and developmentally appropriate philosophy of the half day program, while expanding instructional programming to include more structured, teacher directed and academic opportunities based on the individual student needs.  The instructional focus of the program is to facilitate growth in communication, social/emotional, motor, academic, and self-help development.
